As a result of dedicating decades to his career, Aamir Khan has introduced changes to his life.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao screened their recently released film Laapataa Ladies for the Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, as well as other Supreme Court judges, spouses, and registry officials at the Apex Court on Friday. Aamir Khan and his ex-wife interacted with the audience after the movie screening. Aamir Khan discussed introducing work-life balance to his life after putting in over three decades of effort.

During his speech at the Supreme Court’s auditorium, Aamir Khan said, “I was a workaholic for about 35 years.”.

Aamir pointed to his ex-wife, who was sitting beside him, and said, “Kiran has gone through it. She said, “I understand you are physically here, but mentally you are not”. In the last three years, I have tried to bring balance into my life. She told me, ‘I often hear you saying you cannot meet Ammi because she lives just two floors above you.’

During a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor revealed a conversation he had with Aamir Khan. The renowned actor opened up about not prioritizing his personal relationships for years. According to Ranbir, during their meeting two years ago, Aamir was emotional and admitted that his only significant connection was with his audience. He confessed to not having a strong bond with his children, mother, or even his ex-wife (Kiran Rao), who was his wife at the time.

At the News18 event last year, Aamir Khan talked about his regrets and the fact that he had not spent enough time with his family. About two and a half years ago, he realized he wasn’t giving enough time to his relationships due to his passion. As a result of my children, I was angry and irritated with myself. I would have left films if not for them.

As part of World Mental Health Day last year, the actor talked about seeking therapy. I have become mindful. I have been in therapy for two years. I believe we are not trained to do everything. I can’t go back to the time when Junaid was five and Ira was four. Having spent two years in therapy, he added, “I have learned a lot. I hope that my professional and personal lives can be balanced now. I am grateful that I was able to recognize it at 56 and not 80.”

In March, Kiran made his directorial debut with Laapataa Ladies, starring Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Nitanshi Goel.

Next up for Aamir is Sitaare Zameen Par, which is set for release in December.
